And have now extended this Ministry Online through Several Websites. My Personal Bio: (Dr. Ken Kovach) I’ve been a Bible student and Bible Teacher for over 49 years. I have personally found God’s Word (The Holy Bible) to be totally reliable and an endless well of total sustenance for inner inspiration and victorious well being. The Bible is something that we have found we can rely on through out “all life’s” changing circumstances.
I enjoy studying Christians Books and Teaching Biblical Topics online. I have started and manage several Bible teaching forums online. I write several Christian Articles each week and I’m starting to put togeather a couple of Books. The Bible Courses at Japan Bible Institute Ministries is Accredited by W.W.A.C. which is authorized by The Full Gospel of Christ Fellowship, Inc, which was founded in 1972 and has over 100 schools in the USA! Biblical Integrity, Quality Christian Education and Separation of Church and State are what set us apart and most other true Bible Schools like ourselves. Secular accreditation accredits secular schools where as Christian Accreditation Accredits Christian Schools. And never the twain shall meet because we are “Called Out” by Jesus to be Separate from the World, thus, Church and State are Separate. In Japan Church and State Are Separate and We are NOT associated or Accredited by any Authority in Japan.
Our Doctrinal Statement of Faith
Please note that this is our Personal Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Slightly Differs from some of the Curricula in The Bible Courses available on this website. We have chosen to keep the Bible Courses as Non-Denominational as possible (as many are from Non-Denominational third party sources used in Bible Colleges) and we will only add additional Study Information where deemed necessary to balance out the Doctrinal Point of View to make these courses truly Non-Denominational.
1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired Word of God. We believe that the Scriptures were written by holy men of old who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, and that these writings are the divinely appointed standard and guide to our faith and that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. God and the Trinity
We believe in the one true, eternal God who created and rules the universe and everything in it. We believe in the unity of the Godhead, that there are three distinguishable but inseparable Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. Gods Devine Creation
We believe the Biblical account of Creation as outlined in the book of Genesis, that God created the heavens and the earth. We believe that the first man and woman were created innocent by their Maker, but through the temptation of Satan they transgressed and fell from their sinless state and as result all mankind were born into this world a sinner by nature, and are unable to attain righteousness without the saving power of Jesus Christ.
4. Jesus Christ, the True Son of God
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who was miraculously conceived by divine intervention and born of the Virgin Mary. He made a full atonement for the sins of the world by His death on the cross. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and mankind, and that He gave Himself as a ransom for sins. We believe in His physical resurrection and His bodily ascension into Heaven, His perpetual intercession for His people, and His soon coming personal visible return to the world in power and great glory, to set up His kingdom on Earth.
5. Salvation in Only by Grace
We believe that all people by nature were born sinners, but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). We believe, that anyone who personally accepts God’s forgiveness for sin through Jesus Christ will be forgiven of his or her sins, and become reconciled to God forever with everlasting life and live in God’s presence.
We believe that the salvation is totally by grace (God’s gift of love, mercy, and forgiveness), through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation can only be acquired through Jesus Christ. “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
We are saved by believing in Jesus Christ and personally receiving Him into our hearts and lives, thus becoming spiritually regenerated or “born again.” “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
Once saved, the believer is saved forever. We believe it is the privilege of all who are born again through faith in Jesus Christ to be fully assured of their salvation from the very day that they receive Him as their Savior. Just as the believer is saved by grace, he or she is sustained by grace: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation” (1 Peter 1:5). “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28)
Although we firmly believe that Eternal Salvation is Gods free gift of eternal life and can never be lost, this is not a license for sin to the believer. Because God is a holy and righteous Father Who cannot overlook the sins of His children, if they persistently sin, He will chasten and correct them. Disobedience to a loving Savior can have serious consequences such as loss or heavenly rewards, blessing in this life and even death…..
6. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit came forth from the Father to teach, instruct, inspire, and empower believers for their God-given mission. A believer receives a measure of the Holy Spirit when he accepts Jesus, but he can be filled to overflowing if he asks and desires to give himself more fully to the Lord. “Be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
7. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism or complete filling of the Holy Spirit is a baptism of love, “for God is love” (1 John 4:8), and that it may be freely obtained by all believers who simply ask God for it, and that it is often given after the scriptural “laying on of hands” of other believers. The primary purpose of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is to empower the believer to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me” (Acts 1:8). We believe that the Holy Spirit is also to guide the believer into all truth, to comfort the believer, to assist the believer in prayer and to help him understand God’s Word.
8. The Gifts of the Spirit
It is our belief that God gives different gifts to different people, according to their specific ministry and His particular plan for them. “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:4-5,7). All of these gifts of the Spirit are to be used in the congregation so that the body of believers may be strengthened, encouraged, and edified by them. We believe that Christians who are filled with the Holy Ghost should manifest the fruits of the Spirit as detailed in Scripture: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23).
We believe prophecy is an important gift in the lives of Gods children. As we acknowledge the Lord and ask Him to guide our paths, leaning not to our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6), we believe He speaks to us personally with instruction, guidance, and encouragement. “He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men” (1 Corinthians 14:3).
9. Power of Prayer
We believe that prayer is the vital communication between every child of God and his or her heavenly Father. By prayer, we declare our love for God, our dependence on Him, our submission to Him, and our desire to cooperate with Him in the fulfillment of His purpose. Prayer and Gods Word are the means by which we as His children develop a spiritual relationship with Jesus and the Father and come to know Gods will for our lives.
10. The Lords Divine Healing
We believe that healing diseased and afflicted bodies was a major part of Jesus’ ministry while on Earth, and that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). He still desires to restore health to the afflicted that come to Him in faith. Through Christ’s suffering on the cross, God has made provision not only for the salvation of the souls of all humankind, but also for the healing of physical infirmities, for “by His stripes (the wounds He received when He was beaten) we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Divine healing is a privilege available to all who believe. We believe that “according to your faith it will be done to you” and seeking medical help for illnesses may also be God’s path of healing for you.
11. The Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism
We believe that the Lord’s Supper, called “communion,” was instituted by Christ as a means for us to commemorate His death on the cross for our sins, and that partaking of its elements (the bread and wine) is a profession of the believer’s faith in Him to commemorate His sacrifice on Calvary “till He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26). And that Water Baptism is also and outward sign of an inward spiritual change and is a testimony to the new believers faith in Christ.
12. The Fellowship of Believers
We believe that great spiritual benefit can be derived from fellowship with other believers. The scripture exhorts us not to abandon “the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25). Thus, we should endeavor to follow the example of the Early Church and fellowship one with another in the breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42). We believe that one denomination should not esteem itself greater than another for we are all the body of Christ and have be made to drink of the same Spirit. (This is my commandment that ye love one another as I have loved you.)
13. The Church
We believe that the Church is the collective body of believers. The Church is referred to as “the body of Christ” as well as “the bride of Christ.” Thus, it is not merely an ecclesiastical institution or organization. “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house” (1 Peter 2:5 KJV). “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). We believe the Church is the spiritual entity composed of all born-again persons, regardless of their affiliation with Christian organizations or denominations.
14. The Great Commission
We believe the Great Commission that Jesus has given to His Church is to evangelize the world: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). We believe this should be the primary purpose in life of the born-again believer—to make Christ’s love known to the world and to seek to win others into God’s heavenly kingdom of love. Each believer may fulfill this goal in many different ways according to his individual abilities, talents, circumstances and gifts. Although each one may differ, his heart and attitude should reflect these goals of sharing the Lord’s Love with the Needy World for which He died.
15. Our Separation from the World
We believe that the Christians are called by God to “be not conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds” (Romans 12:2). Jesus prayed to his Father that He would not take them out of the world but keep them from the evil there of. (John. 16~17) The believer should try avoid the un-Christian worldly attitudes and unscriptural ways of thinking. How far and how much you adhere to these scriptures is “according to your faith be it done unto you”. A proper balance is suggested in this area.
16. Obedience to Governments
We believe that we are to submit to this worlds governments, “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake” (1 Peter 2:13). “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the powers that exist are appointed by God” (Romans 13:1).
17. The Time of the End
According to the Bible and the scriptures that describe the signs of the times and events or the end time, we believe that we are now living in the time period known in Scripture as the “Last Days” or the “Time of the End,” which is the era immediately preceding the return of Jesus Christ and His Second Coming when He shall Rule and Reign on Earth.
Spurgeon On Substitution
Substitution is the very marrow of the whole Bible, the soul of salvation, the essence of the gospel. We ought to saturate all our sermons with it, for it is the lifeblood of gospel ministry. (Sermons, Vol. 17, p. 544) If you put away the doctrine of the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ, you have disembowelled the gospel, and torn from it its very heart. (Sermons, Vol. 23, p. 571)
